Finally got gear diff in car but don't fit . Its a specr in a t3. The drive shafts are too long. Has anyone got this combo to work. Should I change to 50mm drive shafts or use shims behind the lower arms or ditch the specr for an xray diff.

The diff is designed to work with 50mm driveshafts Neil, you can get round this problem by spacing out the rear wishbones from the bulkhead with 2mm washes..... :-)

thanks Capt'n gone back to ball diff for time being don't fancy widening it - car wants to spin round too much as it is. Will go for the xray diff i think.

Plenty of threads on the internet about this issue, widening track with would make the rear of the car less likely to rotate neil. You can also dremel the drive blades as to take the radius off of it, as this is what binds against the outdrives. Gear diff can give you the advantage of making the car rotate more on and off power or less by different viscosity oil.

Ey up Dan. Ok will have a google - I just assumed making the car wider and more square shaped would make it want to turn more which I wanted to avoid if poss. Spacers would be the cheapest option tho.

Spacing it out .5mm to 1mm either side worked fine for me Neil. Not a huge adjustment, widening track width gives you a larger foot print. Will make the top link longer, which makes the car react slower.

Will be trying diff with spacers this Friday. Thanks for the reminder - i forgot cars in bits. Best get building.
