Hi Guys, I'm looking at come down to race on the 8th February to race. I did race years ago but it's been a long time. Currently got a Schumacher M1, with a brushless setup just getting the last odd bits.
Couple of questions what pinions would you use and do all Lipo batteries need to be in a Lipo bag. What other bits would I need with me to race on the evening.

Hi Bud, theres been quite a few new faces recently so u wont be on your own And there isplenty of help on offer if needed. Youll need to bring a table and something to sit on + an extension lead. Motor should be 13.5 or 10.5. Not sure on pinion - sure someone will post and let u know. A lipo bag is a good idea but tbh not many use them on race night @ donny. I always use one at home just in case for safety tho.

Cheers Neil for the reply much appreciated. I've already got my slick tyres bud also got a 10.5 motor. Would you recommend 2 battery packs or could I get away with 1?

2 is probably ideal but I just about get away with 1 charging at 6 amps. Theres only about 20 mins between rounds so u will need a decent charger if u only have 1 lipo. For an Mi1 the instructions suggest a 25 pinion for carpet.

Yep looks like 4 amps max. I would see how u get on at a few meetings tho you might find its ok for u.

Hi Neil and welcome, if its a standard esc then you want to be gearing about 6 to 1'ish FDR from memory. A timing advanced esc should be around 7.5 FDR. If you have a large capacity lipo eg 6500mag or above, you will get away with 1 lipo....I only use 1 however I charge @ 10 amps so its fully charge between each race... :-) hope this helps

Looks like a standard esc, FDR is final drive ratio of your car, should be in manuals or google it to find correct gear ratio. 4 amp will only top up your battery, so second race your battery maybe 90% charged, 3 rd race maybe 80% etc. A 5000mah should just be ok I would of thought...other than that 2 batteries maybe required.

I've found the gear ratio online in the m1 manual for a 6.19 I need a 25t pinion. I'll try that en see how it runs. I've ordered a 6500 Lipo hope that's ok before I read the post I can always update the charger at a later date or get another battery. I appreciate your help

I run a single 6200 lipo and charge at 5amps between heats and have never had a problem. Oh, and welcome back!!

It's currently in williamsons get all the electronics en motor installed cos I'm unsure how to do it myself.

Cheers Paul for that. All my car is complete having a nightmare with the body though regarding holes. I may just be watching tomorrow nite :-( en racing the following week.
