Personally I think the club is pretty well run, my only complaint would be that you need a little more time in between heats to get your car sorted/ fixed etc.
other than that Paul gets the carpet down pretty quick and a people help lay the track, some are a little reluctant help put away but its overall run pretty well.
The tracks could do with a update maybe as alot of the track were deigned with a lot slower motors in mind.
other than its all good !!

On a side note, just because of Capt's comment is the club running a winter series this year??

The only downside with longer intervals, would be less qualifying rounds. I think the club does well to get 4 lots 4 qualifying heats in and 4 lots of finals. Everything went pretty well on friday night and found it a thoroughly enjoying evening. Marshalling was great and the driving etiquette was great in my opinion.
As graham says though, people can be a little reluctant to help pack away. The faster it goes away the sooner we get away. Simpleeeeeees!
Other than that, a great club to be part of!

As Dan say's longer intervals would mean losing a round. But would it be better to have a relaxing meet + free practice while race control sorted the meeting out.But this in turn would mean getting the track down quickly.

Would a weekly race meeting be an option?

I'd make one for every week, but its not a case of tern up and race. you need a race controller ect. Any volunteer's

Since reading the thread on buggies, it had me thinking about boosting the amounts of current drivers we have a the club, I went into tags last week and noticed that the club poster was no longer there? Do we have posters elsewhere MB models for example? tags was our only form of advertising that I'm aware of. We really could do with boosting numbers a bit as it benefits everyone at the club, more members/drivers everyweek means less fees or more money put into the club, new rostrums cost money and it wont be too long before new carpet etc. And most of all it boosts the competition which I sure we are all there for! ;D If anyone has other ideas that if we could post a few here and mention them to Paul next meeting.

The way i'd improve it is to stop trying to remove the bricks at the end of the straight and leaving shards of carbon fibre all over. As for carpet, the carpet at Ardent is approx 10 years old already..from when the Derby club used to sort there own venue. And its been run on for 2 years permanently now at Ardent. So I'd say Donny's carpet has got quite a long lifespan still

Any chance of racing outdoors on the tarmac in Summer?

Browny, the reason I say about the carpet is way back when when we got the new carpet in order to keep the 10yr warranty we ran mini pins and rally blocks, lets just say this was a mistake and probably the reason we have a low grip carpet now wasn't thinking like now but in a couple of years, but kudos on your first idea we do tend to find bits of your xray hanging around the track still lol Nezk69, I would run on tarmac but not the concrete thats urrent outside the hall, I can feel my car screaming no just thinking about it LOL ;D

Hmmm, maybe so...sections of ardent did get used for the petit rc race weekend by the buggies...and thats not affected the grip really all that much. I think stocksbridge has the same grip level from the first run out tbh.
I think the struggle with donny is that the hall floor will be dirty, and that will get picked up on the underside and get transferred as the carpet is rolled away. And this would happen anywhere you went in my opinion. Given the amount of times the track is ran on at donny, the grip starts to come up in round 4 and the final.

The levels of grip at Stocks has dropped massively since the foams have stopped smearing their juice on it, v similar to Donny now.

I never thought Stocksbridge had that much grip anyway...always felt about on par with donny.
