hi everyone, i'm back. who would have thought 6 years ago, when i left racing i'd come back. i guess when rob beniston asked me to come and join him again as he had just started back, i knew i couldn't turn down the offer, so i hit ebay hard and 300 quid later, i had a race car. i've been back now i'd say nearly 3 months and i've enjoyed most of it, i'm still a bit lazy, and don't know as much as i should, but that will come with time, thanks to everyone who has helped my back into the sport, and lent me bits and bobs whilst i build up a collection of spares, theres too many to list but i know who you are and you know who you are. been hitting sharley and west bridgeford pretty hard to get a bit of practice so hopefully will be making the bottom of the A final before the end of the season with any luck.
a couple of outstanding issues with the car to solve, i have an orca speed controller and motor thats sort of underperforming at the moment, excelleration isn't mega dispite good gearing and it doesn't hit a great top end speed. i've knocked it up to the top possible settings using the built in software but its still not great. the car is handling well and thats the only thing letting it down and i know a couple of people who agree with me, any chance someone could gives us a hand with it?
its an orca Q speed controler with an orca rx2 13.5t brushless motor. now i've browsed the website for help but i've come to nothing thus far, i've heard i can update my esc with new firmware, which could make a difference and i could also use a hobbywing setup car (the 15 quid one from rc cod) to set it up better but i can't really find any of the data required to do so.
i know dene said he'd lend a hand next race meeting, but i'd like to know myself too i guess. i'm trying to do more of the work myself, and handing my car over less to others
thanks
