as the BH said. Thinner oil on low traction circuits will light up the rear inside wheel on a corner so you keep rotating. I'm running a oil thicker than 50wt so inbetween that and 2000. I have plenty of rear end grip..just no front mid corner. On throttle its planted. Ive some ideas to sort my mid corner but i think my set up is fine for ardent so i'm not too fussed about changing it. Guys at ardent were running very thin oils. 850-900cst i think i herd thrown about but the grip there is alot higher than doncaster's carpet as its a perminant set up. I always ran my ball diff tight at donny to stop that inside wheel lighting up as the 10.5 does force it to do it. But the oil i'm running works well. Just work on the front to dial it in. 2000cst is too thick, 1000 is too light..so experiment with that

I think ball diffs are completely different setup wise. You can't really have a loose ball diff without loosing drive. A geared diff can be very free but still drive. If 1 wheel has to spin going around a corner, which would be prefered, the inside or the outside? I'm guessing that a thinner oil would allow the inner wheel to spin, retaining grip on the outer? Around 900cst at Ardent? According to Xrays leaflet, they say you should use a thinner oil in low grip situations? Therefore Donny would want a thinner oil than Ardent?

If you ask me that leaflet is talking utter SHIZ. But thats just my opinion. Give what it says a try Sherbs, I'd be really interested to hear the results.

From my experience 1000cst works well enough at ardent! Im sticking with 1000cst for the time being...it drives well enough. I think things maybe down to your downstop sherbs. Although i dont know what your running currently.
The inner wheel is always going to spin, regardless of the viscosity of the oil.....the only difference is that the thicker the oil the less spin your going to get coming out of a corner. Coming off power the rear of the car isnt going to want to rotate, so the car pushes on into a corner....which isnt a bad thing as the car will be more driveable to an extent. (understeer being easier to correct than oversteer)
I would say kit springs 6 and 5 downstop, or 5 and 5 as Neil suggests. 5mm ride height all the way around, i think having the ride height more at the back is asking trouble. with 6 and 5 downstop. As its promoting weight transfer to the front axle. Its a case of not being affraid to fart around with the setup, especially at ardent where grip is consistant.
The spec r diff allows for experimentation without the fear of the o ring expanding....but then again the difference in weight seems to make quite an impact on the cars rotation.

I was running 2000 on Friday and found the car pushing off power/understeer, 1500 is the way to go for me. That's probably going to be the sweet spot for Donny. All I need to do now is order some!
