correct me if I'm wrong but rebound is the amount/speed the shock returns towards its normal state once a pressure has been applied (without spring of course ) I personally I try to get all shocks to return to normal state with a slowish return but always the same on all shocks. air not included ;D

yeah its how much shock comes out straight away after pushing it into the body and it extends on its own.
100% rebound for example would shoot out pretty quick and give some odd handling characteristics. 25% is about best i can get with some faffing. Theres a fine line between no rebound and air bubbles!
Given time though all shocks will extend to full.
