I could write an essay, but for everyones benefit I'll keep it brief.
I and another Ardent driver joined forces with Donny to create Team ArDon because both our teams had Larry issues.
Donny's car was not right at all due to a looked front axle. So at the last minute we moved elecs over to the Ardent car and used that. As you might imagine, due to the cobbled together nature of all of this the first few hours were fraught with technical issues and we were 13th after 4 or so hours.
After that we got our heads around it all and the tech issues dried up and we slowly dragged our way up the leader board. By the time dawn was breaking we were up to 7/8th, but the car was now looking, feeling and sounding like a bit of shed.
Luckily the car, although sounding bad and not handling quite at its best anymore, was holding together. with just a few hours to go there was a remote chance of 6th if we could set some amazing times and have no issues. So we all started to push it. Amazingly both me and Neil started to set our fastest times with a now very ropey car.
In the end a few small issues really stopped us in our tracks and we couldn't regain that fast rhythm again.
So at the chequered flag we finished 7th, some 50/60 laps down on 6th, but well over 100 laps in front of 8th. Considering that both the team and car was a little thrown together, and all the initial issues we had, I think I speak for us all in saying we were really happy to place 7th of the 14 cars.
Looking back now, that wasn't so brief was it lol.
Bit of a side note. There is just no way you can appreciate how physical doing a 24hr race is. I'm sat at home now and my legs feel similar to how they felt after some of my half marathons, my feet really don't feel nice at all! I didn't expect to feel like this at all and this is all on top of the tiredness.
Amazing time though, and I'd defo do it all again, but not for a while yet! Well done guys, I think we did pretty good!

was a simply epic weekend. No racing has come close to it. Well up for next year already! We were so fast at the end whipping past people. I still hold fastest lap for our team . If it wasnt for the tech issues at the very beginning we could have been very competitive. Not first as they were very fast! Fair play to the sprint 2. Its done well over 3000 laps and has driven to cornwall in mileage!

it handled better at the end than at the start tbh lol.
Car was in good shape. We never had to rebuild the diffs n other teams were rebuilding theres ever hour or two!
At end i reckon a good dust down and she'd have been in good shape for another 24 hours....hahaha

Well guys, what an experience...i seriously dont know how you guys were blatting around like you were with the handling in such a poor shape. I thought it was my driving letting go because of fatigue lol.
If the front diff hadn't have been locked, i recon our own car would have been amazing. Wish i'd have thought of clicking our shocks on sooner, as with ardents car i didnt know how long the shock oil had been in or out as the case was towards the end.
An embarrasing and stressful start, but once we were into the swing of things. What a team we were functioning as! Some amazing driving and pit stops from all our members and im amazed to say that only one front corner was changed for breakages and both rear corners for wear. So close to chand's team at one point and the motor and speedo let go, ho hum. They were seriously fast towards the end though.
The night stint was awesome, rather comical to see my light kit go pete tongue. But that motor was rather awesome at 7 1/4 hour run time.
Better preperation next year guys?

Its you lot cutting corners and the rear bumper off!
I'm guna rob some of that aluminum foil tape from work for the next one. That elephant dunk will fix any crack!

Would have helped if people didnt run out infront of it too, i was seriously pissed when that guy run across the infield infront of me. I know chris showed his thoughts lol.
I will put up a picture of the shell when i get chance to, either that or bring it to donny on friday for a good chuckle. I'd like to see what the car handled like with a mildly timed brushless setup in it. I thought it handled a little like a 12th car in corners.

Doesn't look in too bad condition condidering how long you used it, the night racing photos look wicked. Like previoulsy mentioned Well done, 24hr straight racing is pretty hardcore.

Hard to say really. I kinda got into a groove. 3 battery packs down and 45 mins gone. You'd walk off rosterum and pretty much collapse cos your legs were giving way lol
you dont realise how you tense up stood up there.
