Scott Wilson is having trouble with his Speed Passion ecs. So he is looking at the Tekin ecs, but has no clue which one. I thought the RS, but what do all the tekin drivers think.

Unless he's gonna be using a 5t or below go for the rs, there's no other difference

Get the hotwire usb lead thingy too so you can plug it into the laptop. You can change some settings without it but for the main ones you need the hotwire.

I have a tekin 13.5 and also an lrp x12 13.5t. The lrp is the one to go for, just seem to have that like more punch. Got mine from ding dong £50 delivered but that was a couple of years ago....... ;D

pulled the trigger now, went for the tekin rs, hotwire and the lrp 13.5 x12, any one fancy giving me some settings and fdr to try play with at stocks on sunday? as i am currently on 6.82. i like the car to have loads of punch and be over quick as i rarely use full power unless to pass on straight.

Good choice Scott....... ;D.....first update esc with latest software, 213 I think....boost on max (55)....rpm 5500 to 20000.....turbo 0.1 delay on ramp 2.....throttle profile 5.....geared @ 7.25 fdr....make sure motor timing is set @ 0.....this will be pretty rapid but if you wanted a little more, just put 5 degree timing on the motor..... ;D....keep an eye on the motor temp with the last setting....

Which timing insert to start on captain? Come fitted with -10 leave it at that or fit the 0 one?

On a X12, leave the -10 shim in. Its already got enough inbuilt timing.

I'd start @ 0 and tbh that will be where it will be once you finished playing....

I found that having the 0 degree shim in caused extra heat even with the timing knocked back on the speedo. My reason for saying....that is all

You must have a different driving style browny, mines never gone above 90 even on plus 10.

Morning chaps! I'm running the same Tekin/LRP set up. Geared at 7.6, motor insert -10, boost at 46, turbo 12, 0.25 delay, ramp 3 & throttle profile 3. Never seen more than 82 deg c & plenty quick enough.....

LRP motors can handle it anyway...i forgot to change the gearing for Halifax on 10.5...geared at 8.4 for a full 5min run. Came off at 125 degrees on the can...must have been close to 140-150C internally, and is still as good as new.

i ran today at stocks 7.14 fdr with captins settings, was running a bit too quick so ran at -10 on motor and was getting temps of 90-120. think i need to dial back a few clicks as was over shooting the apexes alot. maybe up the turbo and down on boost?

Lol, you must have a lead thumb..........its a trigger not an off on switch!....nice and easy, powers there if you need it...zooooooooooooooom....lol

Yeah maybe a little trigger happy, think the extra heat was too much drag brake.

I think i used to use 36 timing boost with 10-13 turbo with -10 shim and throttle profile 3...imo the tekin is aggressive enough with a linear throttle curve (3)

Having seen scott's car today I would say way too much drag break, you just want enough to help slow you down into the corner but not stop you ;D
I would say that with the Tekin you have to have a smooth thumb-trigger action but I really like it and think you will Scott once you get the settings to your liking.
I would keep the timing at 0 on the motor and reduce the settings on the speedo at touch just to get a feel for it and you'll be flying.
